Frauke SchyrokiT:When did you start your art journey?
F:I’ve been creating since I can remember. My parents have been supportive in my art journey very early on. My mom organized an art school for me that I attended after school and I often went to exhibitions with my father on weekends.
T:What inspires you the most in life?
F:My inspiration comes mainly from urban spaces. I love architecture and the concepts behind it. Many designers and architects have brilliant ideas of creating practical but also aesthetically pleasing spaces for people. Many of my illustrations are a tribute to my favorite designers and architects.
T:Are there any big challenges you had pursuing art career?
F:Being a freelance illustrator is a big challenge for me. There are so many fears of financial security or not knowing what comes next. However the positive aspects outweigh all my worries and I’ve found my way to stay positive.
T:What do you wish your audience to feel and take away from your artworks?
F:I hope my artwork brings joy and fun. I often create little details in my illustration to surprise my audience and to make it more personally for them as well. For example by including sport items, certain books or delicious food in my illustration I aim to create something that my audience like and can easily connect with.
